A few things I’ve run across lately that I wanted to share.

First, if you haven’t seen it already, you should check out the Warioland trailer page on Youtube, it’s unlike any Youtube video you’ve ever seen, and it’s an awesome piece of advertising.

Also on Youtube, I had a massive nostalgia overdose when I saw this Dragon’s Lair walkthrough (it’s gone already :)… sorry, but anyway, if you can find one, and you grew up at the same time as me, they’re filled with childhood memory goodness). Dragon’s Lair isn’t a game I got to play a great deal of, or that I’d want to play a great deal of, but it’s so evocative of my 80s gaming roots. It reminds me of how I used to feel about games, how exciting it used to be to see a games segment on a TV show, and the kind of hope for the future of games that things like Dragon’s Lair used to give me. It also put me right back in the time when I was loading games from tape, or swapping 5 or 6 disks, it’s hard to imagine anyone putting up with that today, when a few minutes to install a game on the PS3 is cause for complaint. Good times.

This making of Metal Gear Solid 4 is pretty interesting.

19th century business advice with the Art of Money Getting. Some things just don’t change.

Wil Shipley nails why we and everyone else are scrambling to get up on the iPhone SDK. As cool as the device may be, the most exciting thing for me is¬†the store and the distribution channel, let’s hope Apple follow his advice and don’t break it.

Marketing school from ittybiz, it’s good stuff.
