Weekly Update
Sneezies… Sneezies… and more Sneezies. This week was all about seeing our first iPhone game hit the App Store and watching (or obsessing over) the reaction to it.
We’re delighted with the way the game turned out, and delighted with all the positive feedback from players.
This week we had lots of little mini tasks to take care of surrounding the launch and marketing.
One of my highlights was finding that someone other than us had posted a video of Sneezies to Youtube, another was seeing all of the global high score slots filled by real people.
— ELSEWHERE —
I found plenty of other good stuff online this week. First up, this post from the creator of Trism about his upcoming Onyx system. It’s a high score/profile management/community thing for the iPhone, along the lines of Xbox Live, but free from all sides. I can’t wait to see it in action and hopefully use it in future games.
A great (and topical for us) feature on Kotaku: What Game Developers Do When Their Games Launch. Good stuff. Me? I think I spent the whole day hovering over refresh buttons…
Auditorium is the best and most inventive Flash game I’ve played in a while.
Finally there was this great little video from the guys at Wolfire. It’s a dissection of the design elements of World of Goo, part of a planned series of Design Tour videos. Embedded below:-
