Weekly Update
Two big things this week. Sneezies Lite was released, a free version of Sneezies with a few levels for each game mode. An update to the full version was also released.
Secondly, the Great Indie Bake Off concluded. The winning cake was Appy (Chirp! dammit! :)), and the winning voter who scooped the massive prize haul was Sean Waters.
The bake off was great fun, we met a lot of other cool indie developers, and together we created a fun and cheerful contest that brought a bit of attention to all our Apps and efforts. Very satisfying. As soon as I get a chance, I’ll write a little more about the whole experience.
Sneezies was reviewed this week by thePortableGamer, a great new iPhone site that just launched this week. Some of the same cake fans behind the Touch of Gaming podcast and GamesAreEvil are involved.
Also this week, Twitter continued it’s assault on my time and attention. Our baking buddy Tim Haines created a list of tweeting iPhone developers… turns out there are a lot of them. It’s a real shame we didn’t think to do that before the Bake Off, I think we would have had a lot more cakes that way. I also wrote an epic summary of all the stuff I’ve learned about using Twitter since I started using it.
I decided that the length of these Weekly Updates was getting out of hand, so the development snapshot/artwork post will get it’s own dedicated blog post, starting next week. It’ll be called Craig’s Sketchbook Corner… or something like that. The sharper cookies among you will notice that we just bagged ourselves a free week, I’m sure we’ll make it up to you at some point. I’m keeping the “Elsewhere” section for now.
Work on new projects is progressing, it looks like we know what we’re doing for the time being.

Just a few cool things I found online this week.
Firstly, Jake Birkett has an excellent blog about developing casual games over at Grey Alien Games, and one of his articles, Tips for Finishing a Game, was recorded by Industry Broadcast. They produce audio versions of popular or useful articles about the game development industry. Subscribe in iTunes, it’s a great service.
Next, the developer of Spawn Illuminati gives a great interview to TUAW at MacWorld. He covers all the big issues with the economics of the App Store very well and clearly, great stuff.
Finally, our new friends and cake contest bandits Appy Entertainment got some great press in Variety’s Cut Scene Blog. Paul O’Connor gave a great interview about forming Appy, their history in the games industry, and their strategy and processes for iPhone development.
