This picture tells 3 cool stories

Chillingo hooked us up with an ad slot in a nice little UK indie games magazine called Square Go. It might not send us screaming to the top of the App Store, but it’s 1000% awesome to have something physical with Sneezies on it. I hardly ever get anything tangible associated with my work, so this was very exciting. I’m hoping I can track down a spare copy I can give to Craig next time I see him in LA.

Side note, this was the first time I ever did anything for print (the slot was paid for by Chillingo, I made the ad myself), so I’m extra happy with how it turned out. Illustrator did me proud.

Second story? One of my favorite iPhone sites, Krapps, sent me some stickers. I’m still trying to come up with something truly awesome to do with them, but I figured since I was taking a rare picture, I’d better get them in there somehow (and no offense at all meant to flOw, a million apologies if the juxtaposition implies that to anyone). Krapps take a fun look at the worst of the apps and games that hit the App Store, with a mixture of tongue in cheek humour and genuine disbelief. Go check them out, and follow them on Twitter (and if you want stickers, they’re the guys to ask). Oh, and you’ll be happy to know that they occasionally point out some of the highlights of the App Store too, and that Sneezies is 100% certified anti-Krapps.

Finally… pretty obvious… but it’s snowing! It never snows here… I can think of 3 or 4 times in the last 8 or 9 years when we’ve seen real significant snow on the ground. I’m loving it.

I can’t help but feel that this is how we should do photos and videos in the indie games world, a shaky outstretched hand, poor focus, bad lighting, feels like a badge of honor… our new friends at On the Rocks are doing it all wrong ;).
